Our Funding Partners
As JJVS was conceived as a grassroots organisation we
have been cautious about building our network of international
relationships. Over the years, we have established a select
number of constructive partnerships with aid and development
agencies as well as related government departments.
From its beginnings, JJVS was unfunded and unschooled
in the normal funding processes. We received foundation
support and grants from CRY (Child Relief & You),
a Bombay NGO who visited us and introduced us to the larger
grant-making community, including OXFAM India and many
others.
Our current goal is to extend this network through agreements
with major organisations who are willing to take advantage
of our extensive ground-level experience and judgment.
Following are selected funding agencies that have had
successful and productive relationships with JJVS:
• MISSEREOR/Kzev:
JJVS's impressive work with traditional health systems
earned respect and sole funding relationship in this area
from MISSREOR. Their IGSSS (Indo-German Social Support
Services) has been a steady supporter of JJVS over the
years on smaller scale projects. When major programmes
are proposed, IGSSS provided the introduction to MISSEREOR.
• Karl's Keubel Stiftung (KKS):
After winning the Rotary International Award in 1992,
KKS was introduced to JJVS through CEVA (Caryc Ellis Voluntary
Association). KKS is particularly supportive of our work
with Integrated Rural Development. We are currently in
the second stage of an integrated watershed programme
funded by KKS. KKS raised funding for this programme from
the German government department, BMZ. •
Catholic Relief Services (CRS):
After an extensive selection process, JJVS was chosen
by CRS as the sole liaison for drought relief projects,
watershed, and health programmes in the Udaipur District.
JJVS coordinates these activities with other local operating
partners. • Churches Auxiliary
for Social Action (CASA):
For the past decade, JJVS has been the primary network
partner for CASA's integrated development projects in
Rajasthan. • Women's World Day
of Prayer:
For the past four years, JJVS has been successful in delivering
programmes related to women's and child health/panchayati
raj issues and Women Empower Througth Strengthning the
Self Help Group. They have also funded resources and training
for women Gunis. • Council for
Advancement of People's Action and Rural Technology (CAPART):
JJVS was among a handful of agencies selected by CAPART
to provide 1. drought relief services in Rajasthan. 2.
Revival of Traditional Health System Project.
• CARE India:
In the last several years, JJVS has consistently earned
preferred status with CARE with regard to its work in
natural health projects. When drought relief became a
major issue, JJVS was also chosen to implement CARE projects
in this area. These programmes are in turn supported by
OFDA.
